Effects of lysine and DHA treatments on the expression of lipogenic, lipolytic, and proinflammatory cytokine genes in oleic acid-induced steatotic SK-HEP-1 cells.SK-HEP-1 cells were treated with 1 mM of oleic acid for 48 h to induce steatosis and then treated with 4 mM lysine ± 0.1 mM DHA for 24 h. Total RNA samples were extracted and analyzed for the mRNA levels of fatty acid synthase (FAS), hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) by qRT-PCR as described in Section 2.
