Supplementation with Sodium Selenite and Selenium-Enriched Microalgae Biomass Show Varying Effects on Blood Enzymes Activities, Antioxidant Response, and Accumulation in Common Barbel (Barbus barbus)

Table 5

Oxidative stress and antioxidant responses in tissue of common barbel (Barbus barbus L.) yearlings fed on control diet containing Se-free microalgae biomass and on diets supplemented by either sodium selenite or Se-enriched microalgae (replacing Se-free microalgae) to obtain Se concentrations of 0.3 mg kg−1 from sodium selenite (Se 0.3) or 0.3 and 1.0 mg kg−1 from Se-enriched microalgae biomass Algadiet 0.3 and Algadiet 1.0, respectively.
