Inhibition of glucose-6-phosphate by chlorogenic acid. CGA is involved in blocking the uptake of glucose-6-phosphate by inhibiting glucose-6-phosphate translocase. This prevents the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase from providing NADPH as a cofactor for the reductase activity and so the conversion of cortisone to cortisol is inhibited.
