Schematic representation of HPV16-E7 gene editing using the CRISPR/Cas system. (a) The CRISPR/Cas system-mediated E7 gene targeting of HPV16 genome. (b) Schematic representation of the four customized gRNAs disrupting the E7 gene. The CRISPR/Cas system could induce double strand breaks of the E7 oncogene, which lead to NHEJ repair and frameshift mutation.
