Evaluation of Cytotoxic and Antimicrobial Effects of Two Bt Cry Proteins on a GMO Safety Perspective

Figure 2

DNA damage index in human lymphocytes exposed for 24 h to Cry8Ka5 and Cry1Ac proteins. The 20 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, was used as negative control and doxorubicin at the concentration of 0.6 mM was used as positive control. 1, 2, and 3 correspond to Cry1Ac at concentrations of 100, 500, and 1,000  g/mL, respectively. 4, 5, and 6 correspond to Cry8Ka5 at concentrations of 100, 500, and 1,000  g/mL, respectively. All data correspond to means ± standard deviation of four independent experiments. ; compared to negative control by ANOVA/Newman-Keuls.
