Survival curve and treatment with oral anticoagulant agents. The main predictor of mortality was nontreatment with OAC, with significantly lower mortality in patients treated with VKA instead of antiplatelet (). This figure has been published previously [27]. The overall percentage of patients not treated with OAC was 26.9% (CI = 95%, 22.7–30.9). Mortality was higher () among those ones who had been diagnosed with ≥ 2 CVCs before the AF. On other hand, mortality was significantly lower among those who were treated with statins ().
