Hematoxylin-eosin staining of the gastrocnemius muscles was performed. The muscle fiber areas were recorded in the different groups. The area of the muscle fiber decreased significantly at 4 and 8 weeks after the burn injury, with a progressive course. The data are plotted according to the areas of muscle fiber as mean ± SEM. versus the sham burn group.
