Effects of lithium on body temperature of poststroke rats. At 2 h before surgery vehicle-treated rats were injected (ip) with 0.35 mL NaCl 0.9% and LiCl-treated rats with 100 mg/kg lithium. BT was measured at 2 h after surgery as described in Section 2. This figure represents the results of the second experiment of the study. The results in the first experiment were similar to those presented in this figure. Each column is the mean ± SEM of 6 or 17 rats per group as indicated in the figure. versus sham + Veh.
