A Naphthalenic Derivative ND-1 Inhibits Thrombus Formation by Interfering the Binding of Fibrinogen to Integrin αIIbβ3

Figure 4

Effect of ND-1 on thrombus formation in rats and bleeding time in mice. (a) Effect of ND-1 on arteriovenous shunt thrombosis in rats. Animals were separated into five groups and ND-1 (1, 3, and 7 mg/kg), aspirin (50 mg/kg), or vehicle was injected through caudal vein. Fifteen minutes later, the rats were under thrombogenic challenge. Data are presented as mean ± SD (). (b) Effect of ND-1 on bleeding time in mice. Animals were separated into five groups and ND-1 (2, 6, and 14 mg/kg), aspirin (50 mg/kg), or vehicle was injected through caudal vein. The accumulated bleeding time was recorded within 20 min. Data are presented as mean ± SD (). , , and versus vehicle; versus aspirin-treated group.
