Proliferative and Invasive Effects of Progesterone-Induced Blocking Factor in Human Glioblastoma Cells

Figure 4

Migration of glioblastoma cells is enhanced by PIBF. Wound-healing assay was performed to evaluate the migration capabilities of U87 and U251 cells upon PIBF exposure. Cells were treated with the recombinant PIBF (100 and 200 ng/mL) for 48 h while the medium was used as the vehicle (V). (a) and (b) show representative images of the wound areas taken at 0, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 48 h after treatments in U87 and U251 cells, respectively, in the left panels. The graphs represent the number of cells that migrated into the wound area at the given time of treatment; the data were obtained from four independent experiments and are expressed as the mean ± S.E.M.; and versus vehicle.
