miR-155 Inhibits Mouse Osteoblast Differentiation by Suppressing SMAD5 Expression

miR-155 modulated the osteoblast differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells. MC3T3-E1 cells transfected with either agomiR-155 or antagomiR-155 were induced with 200 ng/mL BMP2 for 14 days. MC3T3-E1 cells left untreated (control) or only treated with BMP2 were used as the control and negative control groups, respectively. (a) Calcification deposition in MC3T3-E1 cells was determined using Alizarin Red staining. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity (b) and mRNA level (c) were determined to quantify osteoblast differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells.
