While methyl methanesulfonate (MMS) is highly associated with enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production [14] and apoptotic response [15], silymarin (SM) and silibinin (SB) exhibit strong antioxidant activities [5, 16] and can prevent apoptosis and influence the genomic stability and the DNA repair system.
