RNA recognition sequences of HuR consist of RRM-1, RRM-2, and RRM-3. The RRM-1-RRM-2 tandem domain is composed of RRM-1, a short linker of 7 residues, and RRM-2 [9]. RRM-1 and RRM-2 can bind to AU/U-rich elements, and RRM-3 can bind to the polyadenylation tail of rapidly degraded mRNA.
