EVs contain proteins (such as HSPs), mRNA, and miRNA that play a pivotal role in reducing hypersensitivity, secreting mucin to antagonize viral infection and to reduce the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) that is associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
