Innovations in Pancreatic Surgery

Call for Papers

New knowledge about the nature of pancreatic diseases and ability to perform more complex pancreatic surgical procedures have changed the indication for surgical treatment and permitted an introduction of organ-preserving surgical techniques. For pancreatic cancers, some innovative techniques to improve its prognosis have been developed, for example, no-touch approach, artery-first approach, or extensive intraoperative, peritoneal lavage. For inflammatory and low-grade malignant diseases, the recent advances in technology have opened the door to a wide range of applications of minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopic or robotically assisted pancreatectomy.

We hereby invite investigators to contribute original research as well as review articles, considering recent innovations in pancreatic surgery. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • No-touch pancreatectomy/No-touch pancreatojejunostomy
  • Extensive intraoperative peritoneal lavage
  • Artery-first approach for pancreatoduodenectomy
  • Advances in techniques for pancreatoenteric anastomosis
  • Laparoscopic or robotically assisted pancreatectomy/pancreatoduodenectomy
  • Laparoscopic necrosectomy
  • Thoracoscopic splanchnicectomy
  • Neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy
  • Borderline resectable pancreatic cancer
  • Pancreatic transplantation/Islet transplantation
  • Combined resection of portal vein and/or superior mesenteric artery
