Tobacco Smoking: The Evidence from Prevention and Cessation

Description

The role of tobacco smoking as a cause of many diseases is now well established from the scientific point of view. It is well recognized that tobacco consumption is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the majority of high-income nations and increasingly in low- and middle-income nations.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the understanding of smoking prevention and cessation, the development of strategy to treat these conditions, and the evaluation of outcomes. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Genetic risk factors for smoking behaviour (molecular and biological aspects and genetic determinants)
  • Global smoking habits worldwide
  • Cigarette smoking-related diseases and cancers
  • Smoking other than cigarette-related diseases and cancer
  • Secondhand and thirdhand smoke
  • Flavored cigarettes and human health
  • The impact of E-cigarette on smoking initiation and cessation
  • Smoking initiation determinants (sociodemographic and personal characteristics)
  • Smoking habits in the Communities(e.g., at school and at workplace)
