The role of tobacco smoking as a cause of many diseases is now well established from the scientific point of view. It is well recognized that tobacco consumption is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the majority of high-income nations and increasingly in low- and middle-income nations.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the understanding of smoking prevention and cessation, the development of strategy to treat these conditions, and the evaluation of outcomes.
