Therapeutic Strategies for Poststroke Neurological Behavior: From Molecular to Cellular

Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes usually lead to neurological deficits. Improvement of the neurological behavior is an important indicator of the efficacy of most pharmacological therapies in postischemic/hemorrhagic prognosis. Potential strategies include promoting neuronal regenerative processes, attenuating neuronal death, mitigating neuroinflammation, and decreasing peripheral immune cell infiltration.
Based on this background, this special issue will focus on poststroke therapies both in basic and in clinical research, how they improve neurobehavioral function in both animal models and patients, and the underlying mechanisms of pharmacological interventions.
Thus, all manuscripts regarding poststroke therapies are welcome for submission, including animal and clinical researches. Reviews are also encouraged to be submitted. Preclinical or clinical studies are more favorable.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Neuroprotective studies (molecular or drugs) in ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes
- Animal behavioral studies after stroke
- Stem cell studies for poststroke therapy
- Advances in poststroke imaging techniques and how it is related to neurobehavioral function
- Current trend or concerns in poststroke therapies for patients
