“Getting Ready for School:” A Preliminary Evaluation of a Parent-Focused School-Readiness Program

Language and math performance over time by group. The direction of the interaction is in the predicted direction for most subtests, with a more positive slope in the intervention group in four out of the six tests. (Note that the scale is the same for all subtests, but the intercept varies according to the range of raw scores.) This provides preliminary short-term evidence from a small sample to suggest that GRS may lead to improvement in some of children’s school-readiness skills over and above a Head Start-as-usual experience.
