A block diagram of an adaptive filter. It is obvious that EEG(𝑛)=𝑤(𝑛)EOG(𝑛)+CEEG(𝑛). Adaption filtering is trying to adjust 𝑤(𝑛) as close as possible to 𝑤(𝑛), so our goal is to approach clean EEG as much as possible. 𝑒(𝑛)=EEG(𝑛)−𝑤(𝑛)EOG(𝑛). It stands that 𝑒(𝑛)→0 when 𝑤(𝑛)→𝑤(𝑛).
