Computational Intelligence in Internet of Things Enabled Applications
Description
The applications and usage of the internet are multifaceted and expanding daily. The Internet of Things (loT) is a new approach for incorporating the internet into the generality of personal, professional and societal life. Once IoT is established, it will become possible to develop and spread various related technologies such as wireless networks, communication modules, sensors, and smart terminals, which will expand the effects of Internet of Things to almost every field of industry as well as daily activities.
The recent development of IoT has enabled a significant step forward for many real-life scenario applications. A variety of algorithms and tools in computational intelligence, including deep neural networks, intelligent optimization and so on have been adopted for IoT based applications. With the help of abundant sensors and devices, a growing volume of data is available for different tasks. To make full use of this data to better fulfill IoT based tasks is a challenge. Another challenge for the IoT based tasks is how to make the sensors “smart” with the help of established IoT networks. For coping with the mentioned challenges, the proper design and implementation of intelligence algorithms are needed.
The aim of this Special Issue is to apply computational intelligence in IoT based applications. The Issue will provide novel guidance for relevant researchers and broaden the perspectives of computational intelligence researchers. Original research and review articles are welcomed.
