Simulation results (a–c) of the proposed method ((1a), (1b), (1c)) and (d–g) of the common method ((2a), (2b), (2c), (2d)), respectively, at time 375 h. The initial condition of the nutrients is given by blood vessel placed at all sides surrounding the domain. The extracellular matrix is initialised with random values (heterogeneous).
