Dynamics of the in-degree (defined as ) and of the reciprocated degree (defined as ) of a sample of countries (Italy, in green; Japan, in black; China, in red; Russia, in blue; India, in brown; USA, in purple; Australia, in orange): while the in-degree remains rather stable across time, the value of the reciprocated degree keeps rising once the country has joined the SCC. Such a dynamics can be interpreted as a signal of ongoing integration [16].
