Embryological formation of the surgical planes allowing the distal pancreatectomy as described. Rotating around the duodenum ventral pancreas and the dorsal pancreas form the pancreas. The rotation of the pancreas and the duodenum cause the fusion of fascias of Toldt and Treitz [9].
