The variables are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation (SD). A -test was performed to compare the quantitative variables that exhibited a normal distribution; otherwise, a Mann-Whitney (nonparametric) test was performed. A Chi square distribution was calculated for the categorical variables. BMI = body mass index. DM2 = diabetes mellitus type 2.
