Green Intelligent Transport System
Description
A sustainable and efficiency transportation system in the face of growing demands on the road networks is one of the greatest challenges for the improvement of safety. With this aim, traffic engineers and scientists are seeking solutions to the questions of how the capacity of the road network could be used more efficiently and how operations can be improved by using new technologies. Against this background, considerable research is performed in the area of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in order to reach a more efficient and safe road usage.
Intelligent Transport Systems aim to enable various transport users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated, and ‘smarter’ use of transport networks. Recently, ITS has been widely applied to solve transportation problems such as congestion, accidents, and pollution emissions. The aim of this special issue is to present the original research and review articles on the latest theoretical and practical achievements that will contribute to the field of green intelligent transport systems. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
- Green Transportation System
- Traffic Theory for ITS
- Advanced Public Transportation Management
- Driver and Traveler Support Systems
- ITS User Services
- Traffic Safety and Emergence Response
- Transit and Rail Systems Operation
- Renewable Energy-Based Vehicles for Green Transportation
- Traffic Operations Management and Control
- Energy, Transport Policy, and Economics
