CP: chronic periodontitis; AgP: aggressive periodontitis; HWE: Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Mild chronic periodontitis: patients with teeth exhibiting < 3 mm attachment loss; moderate chronic periodontitis: patients with teeth exhibiting ≥ 3 mm and <7 mm attachment loss; severe chronic periodontitis: patients with teeth exhibiting ≥ 7 mm attachment loss. A value less than 0.05 of HWE was considered significant.
