Black Tea and Theaflavins Assist Healing of Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulceration in Mice by Antioxidative Action

Immunoblots of the COX-1 and COX-2 expressions in the stomach tissues of normal, ulcerated, and treated mice. Ulceration in the mice was induced by indomethacin (18 mg/kg, p. o.). Treatment was carried out for 3 days with BT (40 mg/kg), TF (1 mg/kg), and Omez (3.0 mg/kg). The bands were quantified with respect to that of -actin bands, using a Kodak Gelquant software. The values (arbitrary unit, mean   S.E.M.) are the density scanning results of three independent experiments, considering that of normal mice as 1.
