The Traditional Herbal Medicine, Dangkwisoo-San, Prevents Cerebral Ischemic Injury through Nitric Oxide-Dependent Mechanisms

Figure 5

Effects of DS on phosphorylation of Akt and eNOS in brain tissues. Phosphorylation of Akt (p-Akt) and eNOS (p-eNOS) in brain tissues of saline- (Con) and DS-treated mice at 60 min after ischemia. Akt, p-Akt, eNOS, p-eNOS, iNOS, and nNOS protein levels were analyzed by Western blotting ( ). DS promoted Akt and eNOS phosphorylation in both ischemic (ipsilateral, Ipsil) and nonischemic regions (contralateral, Cont) of the brain compared with control.
