(a) Normal control (normal cytoarchitecture of pancreas), (b) diabetic control (significant loss of islets and sever acinar damage), (c) glibenclamide (near normal structure of pancreas), (d) MEPG (200 mg/kg) (moderate acinar damage and very minimal number of pancreatic islets), (e) MEPG (400 mg/kg) (mild acinar damage and pancreatic islets), (f) VAD (10 mg/kg) (moderate acinar damage and minimal number of pancreatic islets), (g) VAD (25 mg/kg) (mild acinar damage and sufficient number of pancreatic islets), and (h) VAD (50 mg/kg) (very mild acinar damage and nearly normal pancreatic islets).
