Citrus ichangensis Peel Extract Exhibits Anti-Metabolic Disorder Effects by the Inhibition of PPAR and LXR Signaling in High-Fat Diet-Induced C57BL/6 Mouse

Figure 3

CIE decreases the blood glucose and serum lipid levels in HF diet-fed mice. Mice were fed a chow diet (Chow) or an HF diet alone (HF) or supplemented with 1% of CIE (HF+CIE) for 8 weeks. (a) Fasting blood glucose concentration. The mice were fasted for 12 hours and the tail vein blood was used to test the glucose level. (b) Glucose tolerance test was performed by intraperitoneal injection of glucose (1 g/kg body weight) into mice and blood glucoses were measured at 0, 15, 30, 60, and 90 min. ((c)–(f)) TG, TC, LDL-c and HDL-c concentrations in serum from fasted mice. Values are expressed as means ± S.E. ( ; , versus the HF group).
