Histopathological findings in livers of HFD-fed rats receiving 12-weeks treatment with VBRB or fenofibrate. Rats not receiving any treatment were given the same volume of vehicle (distilled water) used to solve the test medications. Photomicrographs were taken at a magnification of ×400. Photomicrographs are of tissues isolated from vehicle-treated RCD-fed rats (vehicle-RCD), vehicle-treated HFD-fed rats (vehicle-HFD), VBRB- (0.3 g kg−1 per day) treated HFD-fed rats (VBRB 0.3-HFD), VBRB- (0.5 g kg−1 per day) treated HFD-fed rats (VBRB 0.5-HFD), VBRB- (1.0 g kg−1 per day) treated HFD-fed rats (VBRB 1.0-HFD), or fenofibrate (100 mg kg−1 per day)-treated HFD-fed rats (fenofibrate-HFD).
