Rhein Induces Apoptosis in Human Breast Cancer Cells

Cell cycle analysis of human breast cancer cells in response to rhein. MCF-7/VEC and MCF-7/HER2 cells were treated with serial dilution of rhein. After 24, 48, and 72 h incubation, cells were fixed by 70% ethanol, stained with PI, and analyzed using flow cytometry. Percentage of cells in sub G1 (apoptotic) (a), G1 (b), S (c), and G2 (d) phases were shown representing three independent studies. *𝑃value<0.05; **𝑃value<0.01 compared with untreated cells.
