Vitamin K2, a Naturally Occurring Menaquinone, Exerts Therapeutic Effects on Both Hormone-Dependent and Hormone-Independent Prostate Cancer Cells

VK2 treatment inhibits transcription factors AR, NF-kB in androgen-dependent and androgen-independent prostate cancer cells. Western blot analysis showed that 100 μM VK2 inhibits the expression of AR, NF-kB, and phospho-AKT in LNCaP, 22RV1 and DU145 prostate cancer cells. LNCaP, 22RV1, and DU145 cells treated with 0.1% DMSO alone served as controls in this experiment.
