PBMC (5 106) activated with or without PHA (5  g/mL) in the presence or absence of 4-HM (2.5, 5.0, 10  M) for 18 hr. The total cellular RNA was isolated from PBMC and aliquots of 1  g of RNA were reverse transcribed for synthesis of cDNA. Briefly, 10  L of cDNA was applied for the real-time PCR test as described in Section 2. P < 0.01: versus DMSO + PHA group.
