The effect of hyperglycemic condition on the proliferation of trophoblasts. Trypan blue exclusion test was carried out to determine the number of viable cells in the suspension harvested from 30 mmol/L D-glucose (30 mM Glu., the hyperglycemic group), 5.6 mmol/L D-glucose (5.6 mM Glu., the normal glycemic control), or 5.6 mmol/L D-glucose with 24.4 mmol/L mannitol (30 mM Man., the osmotic control) culture for 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h (1–3 days).
