Time course of okadaic-acid-induced glycerol release in rat adipocytes. Fat cells were incubated with okadaic acid (1 μM, 37°C) for the indicated periods. After incubation, media were collected and glycerol release was measured as described in Materials and Methods. Glycerol released into the media was assayed as an index of lipolysis and expressed as mg/mL of packed cell volume (a). Glycerol release data are expressed as percentages of the values obtained after incubation for 0 min (b).
