Loss of allantoin action in db/db mice. The db/db mice were treated with allantoin (5 mg/kg, i.p. three times per day) for 8 weeks. Then, the energy intake was measured and compared with another group that received injection of the same volume of vehicle. The values are expressed as the mean ± SEM from each group of eight animals compared with the normal group.
