Ethanol Extracts of Fresh Davallia formosana (WL1101) Inhibit Osteoclast Differentiation by Suppressing RANKL-Induced Nuclear Factor-κB Activation

Figure 4

WL1101 exerts no significant effect on calcium deposition and cell viability in primary cultured rat osteoblasts. (a) For calcium deposition analysis, primary osteoblasts were cultured in 24-well plates and exposed to WL1101 in the presence of L-ascorbic acid and β-glycerophosphate for 14 days. Long-term treatment with WL1101 exerted no effects on the mineralized deposition of osteoblasts on day 14. The quantitative data are shown in (b) ( ). (c) For cell viability assay, primary osteoblasts were cultured in 24-well plates and incubated with WL1101 for 2 days. Treatment with WL1101 at 20–200 μg/mL did not affect cell viability ( ). Each value represents the mean ± SEM.
