Inhibition of accumulation of lipid droplets by brazilein in 3T3-L1 cells. (a) Differentiated 3T3-L1 cells were treated with brazilein (5 μM) for eight days. Lipid accumulation was measured by Oil Red O staining. Photomicrographs present Oil Red O staining of differentiated cells that were treated with brazilein. (b) Percentage of lipid accumulation was analyzed by quantitative analysis of Oil Red O staining. Data are presented as from three independent experiments; indicates significant difference from vehicle-treated cells. (c) The gene expressions of PPARγ and β-actin were determined by RT-PCR.
