Effects of butein on the phosphorylation of Akt, ERK1/2, and translational regulatory proteins. Quiescent EPCs were treated with or without MV2 complete medium containing 10% FBS in the absence (control) or presence of butein (10 and 20 μM) for 15 min. Cells were harvested and lysed for the detection of p-Akt and p-ERK1/2 (a), p-mTOR, p-p70S6K, p-4E-BP1, and p-elf4E (b) by Western blot analysis. The quantitative densitometry of the relative level of protein was performed with Image-Pro Plus.
