Antiplatelet Activity of Morus alba Leaves Extract, Mediated via Inhibiting Granule Secretion and Blocking the Phosphorylation of Extracellular-Signal-Regulated Kinase and Akt

Effects of Morus alba leaves extracts (MAE) on granule secretion from the collagen-stimulated platelets. Washed platelets (3 × 108/mL) were pre-incubated with MAE at the indicated concentrations and stirred in an aggregometer for 2 min prior to stimulation with 2.5 μg/mL collagen for 5 min. The reaction was terminated, and an ATP release assay (a) and serotonin release assay (b) were carried out as described in Materials and Methods. Bar graphs show the mean ± SEM of at least four independent experiments. ** and *** compared to the agonist control.
