Tongxinluo Prevents Endothelial Dysfunction Induced by Homocysteine Thiolactone In Vivo via Suppression of Oxidative Stress

TXL via activation of PPARγ suppresses oxidative stress in isolated rat aortas. The isolated rat aortic rings were exposed to HTL (1 mM) for 1 hour after preincubation with TXL (100, 200, and 400 μg/mL) for 30 minutes. Aortas treated with 400 μg/mL TXL were in the presence of GW9662 (0.01, 0.1 mM). Homogenates of aortic tissues were subjected to assay (a) SOD activity and (b) MDA content by commercial kits. All data were expressed as mean ± SEM. is 5 in each group. versus Control and versus HTL alone, and versus HTL + 400 TXL.
