Effect of FGS on the apoptosis of CDDP-treated LLC. After treatment with CDDP (1 or 3 μg/mL), without or with FGS (50 μg/mL), LLC cells were harvested for annexin V/PI double staining assay (a). The percentages of negative cells (viable cells), annexin V-positive cells (apoptotic cells), PI-positive cells (necrotic cells), or annexin V- and PI-positive cells (late apoptotic cells) were measured by FACS analysis. (b) Total proteins in the cells treated as in (a) were analyzed by western blotting for apoptotic factors. Each band was quantitated by a densitometer, and relative expression of each protein was shown over β-actin (c).
