The specific fragmentation process of mangiferin flavonoids, take neomangiferin as an example: The fragment ion at m/z 583 [M-H]⁻ was a molecular ion, m/z 421 displayed a loss of 162 Da (C₆H₁₀O₅) based on the parent ion, the fragment ion at m/z 331 [M-H-C₆H₁₀O₅-C₃H₆O₃]⁻ conformed to the rule of C-glycosides loss 90 Da (C₃H₆O₃) and m/z 301 [M-H-C₆H₁₀O₅-C₄H₈O₄]⁻ followed the rules of C-glycosides loss 120 Da (C₄H₈O₄) from sugar molecules through ^0,3X/^0,2X cleavage.
