Antileishmanial and Immunomodulatory Effect of Babassu-Loaded PLGA Microparticles: A Useful Drug Target to<i> Leishmania amazonensis</i> Infection

<div><b>Microphotography of the microparticles: (a-c) control; (b-d) microparticles loaded with babassu mesocarp.</b> For analysis, the microparticles were mounted on adhesive graphite tape attached to a metal support and sputter coated with gold. The observations were made at 10 kV under a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer. Control microparticles containing 6-coumarin (c) and microparticles loaded with mesocarp + 6-coumarin (d) were also examined.</div>
