Bufadienolides from<i> Venenum Bufonis</i> Inhibit mTOR-Mediated Cyclin D1 and Retinoblastoma Protein Leading to Arrest of Cell Cycle in Cancer Cells

<div><b>Bufadienolides inhibit cancer cell proliferation. </b>Bufadienolides inhibit cancer cell proliferation in a dose-dependent way. (a) MCF-7 and DU-145 cells, grown in 96-well plates with 10% FBS-DMEM medium, were treated with bufadienolides (0-20 <i>μ</i>g/ml) for 48 h. Cell proliferation was assessed using one solution reagent (Promega). Absorbance at 490 nm was determined by a Biotek Multilabel Counter.
