VdE: ethanolic extract of Vochysia divergens leaves; PCE: polychromatic erythrocytes; NCE: normochromatic erythrocytes; DMSO: dimethyl sulfoxide (5%); MMS: methyl methanesulfonate (40 mg/kg b.w.). Values are the mean ± standard deviation. A total of 400 erythrocytes were analyzed per animal, corresponding to 2,400 cells per treatment. A total of 2,000 PCEs were analyzed per animal, corresponding to 12,000 cells per treatment. Significantly different from control (P < 0.05). Significantly different from the MMS group (P < 0.05).
