(b) Model group, in which AR42J cells were cultured in medium containing cerulein (10⁻⁸ M): mitochondria were damaged where ridges ruptured or disappeared (arrows). (c) After 16h of treatment of rhein, mitochondrial swelling and fracture were reduced.
