Potential Antiglycation and Hypoglycaemic Effects of Toona ciliata M. Roem. and Schkuhria pinnata Lam. Thell. Crude Extracts in Differentiated C2C12 Cells

Figure 5

The effects of different extract concentrations of S. pinnata on the proliferation of murine myoblast cells (C2C12) as a percentage of the untreated control is represented as concentration versus cell viability. SPiM=S. pinnata methanol extract, SPiA=S. pinnata acetone extract, SPiH=S. pinnata hexane extract, and DMSO= Dimethylsulphoxide. The results were obtained from three independent experiments and expressed as means ± standard deviation. The statistical significance of the results was tested using One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) employing the Dunnett Multiple Comparisons Test. The p value significance was represented by an asterisk () for p <0,05 and two asterisks () for p<0,01. Superscripts represent significant differences among the extracts at given concentrations. Extracts with the same superscript were not significantly different from each other while those with different superscripts showed significance of p <0,05.
