Auricular Electroacupuncture for Late Posttraumatic Epilepsy after Severe Brain Injury: A Retrospective Study

Figure 3

(a) In the 89 cases, significantly more seizure-free cases were observed among patients who did not receive sodium valproate (SV; , χ2 test). (b) The seizure-free rate was increased in patients who received auricular electroacupuncture (EA) and sodium valproate (, χ2 test). In the 30 cases who received EA, the seizure-free rate was not significantly reduced by sodium valproate, which was also seen in the 59 cases of the control (non-EA) group. The 55 cases treated with sodium valproate who received EA showed significantly increased seizure-free rates (, χ2 test). The 34 cases who did not receive sodium valproate showed a similar result (, χ2 test). , .
